My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be ONE, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be ONE as we are ONE: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world- John 17:20-23

In case you’ve missed it, Craig Groeschel and the boys over at LifeChurch.tv are up to something BIG, and they’re not alone. I’ll let Craig tell you in his own words:

We are going to partner with hundreds of other churches to do a series together called One Prayer. The series will begin on the weekend of June 7-8 and run for a total of four weeks. The premise of the series is: “If God would answer ‘one prayer’ for the church at large, what would you pray?”

Big names and big churches are already signing on. Without repeating Craig’s entire post about it, they’ve orchestrated it so that it’s not about a handful of churches, but provides the platform for dozens, even hundreds of churches, to interact and support each other.

What a wonderful, God-ordained idea. If you know anything about the men and churches that are leading this initiative, then you’d know their heart of cooperation and blessing with the rest of the Body of Christ. If you know anything about church history, then you’d know that it’s only by the Holy Spirit this type of unity is created and sustained. Lord Jesus, let you name be glorified, and let the unity of Your church testify to the world, just as your word says!

What do you think? Is this just a hype job or a sign of the spirit of Christ uniting His church?
